Job Description

The Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) at Leidos currently has an opening for Senior Intelligence Analyst with quantitative focus to perform data analytics and support data science research at our customer sites in the National Capital Region, and our Leidos Arlington office, to support ongoing and future programs focused on Social Media and Publicly Available Information (PAI) exploitation.  The job of the candidate is to advance the state of the art in research and advanced applications in the areas of mission-focused big data analytics, predictive analytics, and enhanced intelligence analysis.  The candidate will work closely with software developers, network engineers, senior investigators, program managers, researchers, data analysts, digital forensic examiners and other intelligence analysts on small teams to design and optimize a Data Science platform (DOMEX Data Discovery Platform –D3P) to produce and analyze results, disseminate findings, and contribute to publications and presentations.  
Roles and Responsibilities: - The ideal candidate has a strong background in Open Source Intelligence Analysis, All Source Intelligence Analysis or intelligence integration in support of operations, experience with customer outreach and engagement, as well as proficiency performing large-scale quantitative analysis to discover non-obvious patterns.   - An analyst with a demonstrated aptitude for problem solving, identifying and exploiting new publicly available information (PAI) data sources, thinking outside the box, and a strong sense of accountability is desired. - Proven experience delivering customer-focused analytical results is essential.   - Need the ability to take open-ended or high-level guidance, independently make discoveries that are mission-relevant, and package and deliver the findings to a non-technical audience.   - Individuals with a mix of intellectual curiosity, customer-focus, and operational experience to improve the performance and user adoption of high-end data analytics platforms in partnership with a highly qualified, highly motivated team.  

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below - B.S. Degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as Economics, Political Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Computational Social Science and 10+ years of experience in data analytics or quantitative intelligence analysis, with a substantial share directly supporting military or intelligence community customers, and demonstrating progressive technical development and outcomes. - Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph within 90 days of employment. - Significant experience dealing with open source, publicly available information (PAI) data sources and types, to include but not limited to social media. - Experience working with a hybrid team of analyst, engineers, and developers to build and deploy complex, but easy-to-use analytical systems. - Previous experience performing research in Data Analytics or big data. - Significant experience performing quantitative analysis to support military, law enforcement, or intelligence community operational activities. - Track record of active learning and creative problem solving;. - Ability to analyze and assess software development or data acquisition requirements and determine optimal, cost-effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration - Experience in one or more scripting languages such as R or Python; - Previous experience collecting, analyzing, processing, or examining DOMEX or digital forensic images; - Experience performing social network analysis, supply chain analysis, forensic accounting, pattern of life, classification algorithms, image processing, and/or targeting; - Experience blending analytical methodologies and leveraging existing COTS/GOTS/OS tools in unconventional manners; - Experience utilizing virtualization and distributed field systems, such as Hadoop (or similar distributed file systems) in development and deployment environments; - Experience using git, svn, JIRA, or other version control technologies; - Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS/C2S); - Familiarity with hardware platforms, e.g., CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, etc.
