Capture Manager

The Competitive Intelligence Analyst (CIA) reports to the Director, Competitive Assessment Group within the Business Development Capture Management Excellence (CMX) organization and is responsible for developing CI profiles in support of Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) new business competitive captures.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires a minimum of a Secret Clearance on the first day of employment.

Major Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure that the competitive intelligence analyst deliverables consistently contribute to improving our company competitive positioning with the view of helping to achieve company business goals and mitigate business challenges
  • Conduct capability, gap and risk assessments on RMS, our customer set and competitors (product, mission area, geographic, political and technology gaps
  • Develop clear and complete statements of work for CI development and analysis by third-party consulting firms and collaboratively lead the consulting firms work scope completion in order to meet on time delivery and all other requirements/expectations
  • Support the development and implementation of Product Line Growth Strategies, and other strategic projects as required
  • Collaborate with cross-RTN CMX competitive assessment organizations
  • Provide CI presentations to Capture Managers, Capture Teams and Product Line senior leaders as required
  • Deliver various tactical through strategic information and intelligence needs that support overall strategy development, and develop market/opportunity assessments, customer profiles and competitor assessments from the delivered information and intelligence
  • Support the integration of developed profiles and assessments into related capture strategies and actions
  • Update information and intelligence as the customer and competitor environments change
  • Develop and analyze information on the features, pricing and performance of anticipated/actual competitor offerings and provide recommendations for strategy updates
  • Identify the expected behaviors of both customers and competitors with respect to new opportunities
  • Establish information, intelligence and knowledge sources and repositories to efficiently enable reuse and capture efficiency
Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
  • Minimum 10 years overall related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; minimum 8 years related experience with a Master’s Degree
  • Minimum 4 years working in the domestic/international aerospace and defense market, or equivalent
  • U.S Citizen
  • Proven analyst-related experience, expertise and success
  • Knowledge of current data/information mining and analysis tools and methods
  • Superior ethical standards and integrity: treat everyone fairly and with respect
  • Proven ability to develop effective internal and external relationships
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and internet capabilities
  • Existing Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI required - Candidates with current Secret DoD Clearance and those that previously held DoD Top Secret will also be considered
Desired Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Education:
  • Excellence in time-management and ability to rapidly adapt and turn-around unplanned analysis requests
  • A working knowledge of the RMS organization and a broad understanding of the strategic planning process and the RMS strategic growth plan
  • Advanced understanding of RMS products and markets, technical roadmaps and business operations
  • Previous experience with annual strategic planning, growth and investment processes
  • Knowledge of RMS domestic and international customers
  • The ability to solve complex, time-sensitive problems – a critical and strategic thinker and change leader
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to produce superior quality work in a timely fashion while simultaneously managing numerous projects
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, engineering or a related field
  • Master’s degree or MBA highly preferred
Security Clearance

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
