Job Description

The Global Positioning System Advanced Control Segment (GPS OCX) Raytheon team is responsible for full life cycle engineering on state of the art environmental, commercial, and sensing systems for government and commercial applications.

GPS OCX is seeking a talented Database Engineer to enhance and maintain relational database data contents, data tables, and database integrated views to support GPS OCX automated deployment. The individual will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders and a team of backend database and GUI developers to create a working product.

As an Oracle Database Engineer, the selected candidate will perform the following using Oracle 11g & 12c to support GPS OCX automated deployment:

  • Collaboration with stakeholders, GUI team, backend database team and system engineering team to extend and maintain data within an Oracle relational database
  • Taking ownership of data to ensure data is current and valid for stakeholders
  • Extending existing tables and views to improve performance, data quality and functionality
  • Maintaining and extending capabilities per user/stakeholder feedback
  • Documentation of team processes
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 6 years Oracle Database Engineer experience performing database development
  • Experience with data modeling and design
  • Experience with maintaining Oracle Databases
  • Experience with table and view maintenance and extension
  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor team members
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly come up-to-speed on complex data relationships, dependencies, and versioning
  • Ability to work well with a team, self-motivated and detail oriented
  • SQL Developer experience
  • Windows and Linux experience
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen and hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Database Administration, CIS or related Technical major.
