Job Description:
The Tech Ops III Program Operations Lead is responsible for leading a 24x7 operations team and ensuring that all program operational requirements are satisfied. The Operations Lead will act as a representative of the operations center for any meetings, conferences, and briefings that require an agent for the organization; maintain the shift schedule to ensure continuous 24x7 operations support; create/direct training and policies that define how the operational floor should function; ensure that all shift personnel are adequately trained and maintain proficiency through an annual certification program; and perform all personnel supervisory activities including annual performance evaluation reviews, timecard approval, and hiring of personnel. The Operations Lead will proactively communicate with the customer on issues that could potentially impact mission success (status of equipment, operational readiness, etc.); ensure that the operations team produces clear and comprehensive daily status reports that result in no questions or concerns from the customer; and ensure that the operations team successfully engages and interacts with all outside organizations. In addition, the Operations Lead is expected to support engineering activities and implementation of new mission capabilities as it relates to and impacts the activities of 24x7 operations.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to provide leadership for a 24x7 operations team ensuring successful system operations activities
  • Ability to perform scheduling of personnel to properly cover all 24x7 shift requirements
  • Create/direct training and policies that define how the operational floor should function
  • Maintain and present statistical data that identifies the performance of operations as defined by program operational metrics
  • Interface with Program Manager, Program Office, Operators, and End Users in support of daily operations or resolution of any operational related problems
  • Act as a representative of the operations center for any meetings, conferences, and briefings that require an agent for the organization
  • Assist/fill-in on the operations floor in emergency situations and to support engineering activities as required
  • Ability to perform timekeeping activities and ensure that all personnel follow Raytheon timekeeping standards
  • Ability to provide direction based on general Raytheon policies and management guidance
  • Ability to occasionally provide support outside of standard day shift hours
  • Ability to occasionally travel as required to support program activities
  • Highly motivated individual with strong work ethic

Desired Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Technical background and competency in supporting hardware running on Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Previous experience in handling COMSEC materials and providing COMSEC oversight activities
  • Experience supporting Request For Change (RFC) and other required documents for performing changes to the Operational System baseline

Required Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum required education is a BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and at least 4 years of related experience or possess the equivalent of 12 years of experience in the satellite communications field
