Job Description

The position requires a strong knowledge of Information Assurance technology and DoD information assurance system certification. Requires hands-on experience utilizing patch management, scanning & auditing, security event monitoring, host-based security and multi-factor tools in an integrated lab environment. Experience hardening Windows and Linux servers and workstations is a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills are required with a demonstrated ability to support complex organizational relationships. Excellent technical document preparation skills and verbal communications are required for presentation of technical Information Assurance issues and reports to senior government and military officials.

Position Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for installing, deploying and testing COTS IA Products for HBSS, ArcSight, ACAS, etc. These IA Products may include: Group Policy settings, STIG configurations and System Spec Requirements. Documenting lessons learned, best security engineering practices, and industry standards will be required in daily tasks.

Technical Skill Required:

The position requires the following security engineering skills: technical trouble shooting of software applications and integrating COTS products, data analytics of system vulnerabilities and mission impacts, and risk mitigation resulting in system accreditation. Must have working knowledge of implementing DISA STIGs and GPOs. Familiarity with both Windows and Red Hat Operating systems is required. Experience with system development lifecycle utilizing Risk Management Framework (RMF) is a plus.

Education Required:

Required - 6 years with a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent years of experience. Required - DoDI 8570 certification (e.g., GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP).


Travel is required between Colorado Springs and Huntsville to support meetings and work with distributed functional personnel. Travel may be necessary for operational sites as well. An existing Secret clearance is required.
C2BMC experience is required.
