Raytheon IIS/CSM is looking for a Principal Logistics Specialist to independently interact with a variety of customers on a daily basis, providing quick reaction support and innovative solutions. This Specialist is expected to be a team player, self-motivated, and able to independently prioritize tasking in a very complex and fast-moving environment. The Specialist is expected to create relationships with remote logistics teams to smoothly expedite shipments and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Tasking on this job will vary widely from day to day. The Specialist must display independent judgment and discretion to balance the complex customer regulations, Raytheon requirements, and mission needs. Decisions are made based on material, environment, destination, policies, mission partners, transit schedules, database requirements, classification levels and numerous dynamic factors. This requires the Specialist to have strong relationships with a variety of customers throughout the process, have a strong foundation in customer-specific logistics practices, and be able to balance the needs of the mission with a variety of other requirements to achieve success. Many of these solutions will need to be innovative and require a high level of problem solving skills.
The Principal Logistics Specialist must have strong knowledge and experience to manage all facets of Property Management, Warehouse Operations and knowledgeable of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). The Specialist will be responsible for managing one or more areas of responsibility. Areas include shipping over 7,700 line items monthly in a complex environment, receiving and end-user delivery, maintaining property control for over 19,000 line items, property destruction, database management, transportation, safety, and proper handling of sensitive material, and maintaining audit compliance. These areas of responsibility are far more complex than in normal warehouse operations due to the sensitive nature of the program, the intimate knowledge of customer systems required, and the need for judgment calls on proper handling of the many unique and dynamic logistics scenarios. Logistics personnel will be cross-trained in all areas of warehouse operation and will be expected to be able to cover each other’s area of responsibility as well as support customer surge requirements. The Specialist must be familiar with local established business policies, procedures and public law to ensure compliance. The Specialist will have the opportunity to transition customer items within the Washington Metropolitan Area and nationwide.
In support of ever-evolving customer needs, the Principal Logistics Specialist is expected to proactively execute and continuously improve upon existing logistics processes. The Specialist will oversee and interact with non-logistics personnel to ensure the entire team operates to the highest level of logistics standards. The Specialist is responsible for generating monthly metrics & briefings in their area(s) of responsibility. For example, weight and number of line items shipped in a given month is tracked and reported to the customer monthly. Logistics initiatives and process improvements are also presented to the customer as applicable.
Our operations may require the Specialist to work in inclement weather (Rain, Snow, Heat & Humidity) to complete our mission. Individuals will be required to lift 50 pound items unaided, obtain a DOT Medical Card, drive forklifts, be certified for DOT/IATA Hazardous Materials, and Electrostatic Discharge. Having an NPMA certification would be a plus.
The Specialist manages and controls the flow of property in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 52-245 Receiving, Identification, Storage, Shipping, Inventory, Audits and Import / Export requirements.
Hours of operations are typically 1st shift but may shift on occasion to meet customer mission requirements. The work location is in Dulles area.

Required Skills:
· 8+ years applicable experience;
· Must have TS/SCI w/ Poly Security Clearance;
· Excellent computer skills (MS Office);
· Proven ability to be a team player with excellent customer service skills;
· Must have ability to lift 50 pound items unaided;
· Must have or be able to obtain DOT Medical Card;
· Must have a good driving record and capable of driving up to a 26 foot box truck;
· Must be willing and able to work in inclement weather (Rain, Snow, Heat, Humidity, etc.) to complete required mission.

Desired Skills
· NPMA Certification;
· CDL Class A Driver’s License;
· Forklift Certified;
· ESD, DOT/IATA & HAZMAT Certified;
· Previous experience transporting items within Washington Metropolitan Area and across country.
