Job Description

Raytheon Blackbird Technologies is currently seeking a junior- to mid-level System Administrator to support various programs within our IOSC group. We specialize in solving the difficult problems our customers cannot. The candidate should possess deep problem-solving ability and understand complex functionality. As part of our team, the successful candidate will address these issues head-on with a can-do attitude while contributing to our ground-breaking technology in cloud computing.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Configuring and testing new applications, technology, and equipment
  • Day-to-day system administration duties to include user account maintenance, storage management, system monitoring, patch and antivirus updates, and user (developer) support\
  • Developing, testing, and delivering solutions as necessary within multiple staff support functions
  • Providing operational support to meet customer and mission requirements
  • Working as part of the team to enhance and extend the current systems in support of mission needs, to include improving backup/restore processes/procedures, system and audit log maintenance, and working with security processes to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all systems
  • Pre-configuring devices and systems based on the detail architecture and engineering design before deploying to the infrastructure
  • Providing technical and/or non-technical life-cycle systems engineering support for: requirements analysis, configuring (CM), testing, design/development, deployment of systems, and maintaining and updating engineering documents
  • Supporting production-based problems/incidents
  • Applying creative engineering and analytical skills to resolve system problems
  • Auditing system log files to include compliance audits
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software problems
  • Documenting hardware and software configurations, maintenance history, and backup history
  • Adapting unique debugging and troubleshooting skills

Required Skills:

  • Current and Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Must have 8 years of professional experience
  • Must have relevant system administration experience
  • Strong Linux system administration skills
  • Must have strong analysis and decision-making skills with the ability to conduct briefings, participate in technical cross-functional meetings, strong commitment to process, and understanding of change and configuration management principles
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds with no assistance
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Possess good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must exhibit good time management skills and independent decision making capability with focus on customer service
  • Ability to work with the other technical members of the team to administer and support the overall program

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting Customers
  • Experience with Oracle, Access and SQL Database Administrator Skills
  • Experience with NetApp storage area network (SAN) configuration and administration
  • Strong Windows and/or VMware System Administrator Skills
  • Network trouble shooting experience
  • Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Excellent writing skills

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Information Systems (Relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)

This position may be a Principal Systems Administrator (G10) or a Sr. Systems Administrator II (G09) depending on the candidates qualifications.
