This position will support an enterprise Information Technology O&M program filling a position in Chantilly, VA. The Windows Systems Administrator to provide system administration to high priority systems, servers, clusters, and workstations running a variety of operating systems/applications to include Windows, SQL, and Active Directory. Work will include installation, configuration, maintenance, and urgent troubleshooting efforts. Perform administration and maintenance of servers and desktops. Perform project planning, coordination, and execution of operating system installations and upgrades, patches, and service pack releases. Supervises a team of system Administrators. Install and configure systems, servers, workstations and peripherals. Respond to all system administration related work requests, including working with system maintainers, system engineering analysis, and integration efforts. Maintain and update standards documentation. Will also provide end user support. Candidate must be willing and may be required to provide Tier 1 support. The Environment fluctuates between routine and urgent, depending on ongoing tasks, priorities, and performance of assigned systems. Attends meetings and serves as the primary client liaison. Interacts with vendors, other agencies and other client staff on behalf of the client.Required Skills:
•Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or related hard science subject and four years’ experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
•Ability to multitask and complete assignments on time
•Experience working in fast paced environment
•Provide weekly status reports to government and program management
•Develop new processes to create efficiencies
•Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various teams. Over 40 Tier3 administrators
•Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement team policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
•Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.
•Oversee Enterprise projects ensuring appropriate resources are allocated and tasks are completed on time
•Communicate with various teams internal and external to address issues and coordinate project plans to ensure tasks are completed on time
•Must possess appropriate current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment, either CompTIA Security+ CE OR CCNA-Security. CompTIA Security+ CE is the preferred certification. In addition must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification within six (6) months of Hire Date
