Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: This sub family is responsible for overall network engineering support for a broad range of programs including planning, designing, and evaluating various components of the network. Duties may include providing specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments. Support level duties may include monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment. IMPACT: Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on the area/ project team. Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments. May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments. COMPLEXITY: Addresses somewhat complex technical issues/problems using internal best practice and through collaboration with colleagues. Develops solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge, but are typically limited in complexity. COMMUNICATION: Communicates with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.). Explains technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization. LEADERSHIP TALENT MANAGEMENT: KNOWLEDGE: Requires working knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of technical domain. TYPICAL EDUCATION EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS degree and 2 ? 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. EFFECTIVE DATE: 01/02/2016
- 3+ years experience in integrating and configuring communications applications such as Exchange, Skype, Calendar to Provide a Unified user experience. - DHS experience - Security+ certification - MCSA or MCITP certification - knowledge/experience ITSM tools - Microsoft certified professional Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
