The Health Products and Solutions Operation currently has an opening for a Systems Engineer to support a large healthcare contract in Rockville, MD. This position is contingent on contract award.
Activities associated with building endpoint software images
Build and maintain a master endpoint image as well as unique endpoint images as required
Develop and document new, or update and enhance existing, endpoint image build procedures that meet customer requirements and adhere to defined policies
Provide technical assistance to the customer in defining endpoint image package specifications for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and other current or future customer supported endpoint devices
Develop and document detailed technical specifications that define and support the build and test plans for all endpoint image builds
Build master endpoint images, as well as unique endpoint image builds that are a derivative of the master image(s), and maintain the images consistent with customer licensing and security standards
Assist with maintaining a list of security patches / upgrades for the master endpoint image and help to ensure image patches and upgrades do not have a negative effect on users
Prepare for, conduct, and document results from integration, system, and end user testing of endpoint image builds to validate that they perform in accordance with the approved specifications, that they can be deployed successfully, and that they successfully operate with all current supported applications, hardware, and software
Use government-provided utilities and tools to build and maintain endpoint images
Document and manage endpoint builds using formal project management tools, methodologies, and standards (e.g., ITIL change and configuration management practices)
Provide Endpoint Engineering Tier 3 support in coordination with the Service Desk (and using the government furnished Service Management System and standard escalation procedures) to resolve network outages to include logging and reporting each user trouble call, regularly providing customers with status updates, and successfully closing out incidents on a priority ranking basis. This includes monitoring the infrastructure ticketing queues and troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related service requests, incidents, and problems.
Assist with delivering a root cause analysis document for each Severity 1 incident escalated to Tier 3 resolved in accordance with SLAs.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and five (5) years of general experience. Six (6) years of general experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. With a Master’s degree, three (3) years of general experience is required. With a PhD, one (1) year of general experience is required.
Strong understanding of client workstation deployment process and development for Window 7/10
Develop, Implement and maintain an enterprise deployment and software application packaging infrastructure; enabling the ability to deploy applications with tools like SCCM, IBM Big Fix, and Altiris
Develop and Maintain Windows 7 and 10 Images utilizing Microsoft SCCM, USMT amp; MDT.
Test and integration experience in new desktop and laptop hardware.
Exploring new opportunities that add to the business value proposition or reduce costs.
Troubleshoot complex third level technical support incidents in compliance with service levels.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and communicate with other teams as soon as possible
Maintains documentation of all customizations and changes made during the packaging process.
Presents materials and presentations relating to software packages to end users and management.
Windows Operating System (desktop) deployments and automated build processes, including performance tuning.
