Leidos Civil Transportation and Finance Solutions Group is seeking an experienced professional to lead the development of the hosted satellite payload for the Geostationary Satellite Service Lease program. The candidate will be primarily working directly with subcontractors who will be building and testing the satellite and hosted payload. The candidate will be responsible for the system architecture, design, and implementation, as well as test / sell off to ensure the hosted satellite payload meets the technical requirements of the program. The candidate will drive the full lifecycle effort across all Engineering domains with a focus on development, analytics, system functionality and customer satisfaction. Qualifications:
The candidate must have experience in the design of satellite communications payloads, and must be comfortable with dealing directly with satellite/payload vendors to discuss design, cost, and schedule tradeoffs, and be willing to attend Preliminary and Critical Design, as well as Pre-Launch, Test Readiness Reviews as well as In-Orbit Test. Candidate must have systems engineering knowledge with an emphasis on RF and Microwave systems analyses. The candidate will work with Legal in establishing FCC licenses and other agencies as needed for licensing and coordination, and with the DOD GPS Program Office to coordinate transmit EIRP levels and Pseudo-Random Code allocations. The candidate will be working with Legal and US Govt. Agencies to perform the ITU Resolution 609 Coordination necessary to maintain FCC licenses for Leidos GCCS satellite transmissions at L1 and L5, and will be required to perform the necessary power flux density calculations, then travel to the locations (China, Africa, Middle East) to represent Leidos at those Coordination meetings.
EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Degree in Satellite Engineering or Systems Engineering highly preferred.Leidos Overview:
