The Defense amp; Intelligence Group has a current opening for a Staff Operations Officer (SOO) for assignment in the Northern Virginia area supporting the U.S. Government. The position requires a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. Qualified candidates will have experience supporting operational requirements in a challenging, fast paced environment. Successful candidates will be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision. Candidates will be expected to effectively interact with customer personnel at all levels within the customer organization. The position requires prior experience in supporting HUMINT operations or familiarity with the Intelligence Community and its objectives.
The SOO position will support operational elements by providing operational research and analysis in support of the client’s objective to acquire intelligence. Officers will utilize customer-specific databases to conduct multiple layers of research and write summaries, reports, official correspondence, and guidance. Officers will also be expected to provide thorough and knowledgeable briefings on the analysis to customer management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage a full range of operational and support activities for overseas missionsServe as the primary point of contact for an overseas office and/or volume of ongoing casesProvide operational guidance for ongoing cases, ensuring any CI issues are identified to protect the client’s personnel and facilitiesDesign particular classified activities, propose recommendations, and identify the pros/cons of possible operational scenariosCoordinate legal policy issues affecting cases and overseas officesProvide in-depth research on existing cases, and intelligence assessments using all-source and classified informationProvide briefing on cases to senior customer officials, identifying potential issues on casesProvided limited amount of administrative assistance in support of field elements and personnel
Minimum three years of SAR Ops experienceA Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience supporting HUMINT operations or a related fieldTS/SCI security clearance with polygraphExperience with telecommunications systemsKnowledge of cyber industryProven record of effective tradecraftStrong analytical, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of reporting policies and proceduresExperience in (memo) writingStrong briefing skillsAbility to exercise sound operational judgmentInitiative flexibility, and the ability to work independently
