Leidos is currently interviewing for a SPECIAL SECURITY OFFICE (SSO) CLERK supporting our C4IT Business Unit's USMC C4I Division in VIRGINIA BEACH, VA.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:As SSO Clerk, candidate will perform personnel security functions including the transfer/receipt of security clearance certifications; coordinating personnel investigative requirements with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and Defense Security Service (DSS); and submitting personnel security background investigations and periodic reinvestigations to OPM. He/She will process SCI positions and eligibility requests, assist in the investigation of SCI security infractions and reports preparation. Ensure all physical, personnel, and information system security measures are enforced in accordance with SCI policy and perform other security related duties as directed by the Special Security Officer. These duties may include, but are not limited to: clerical administration of applicable Intelligence Community (IC) directives as they pertain to IWTC-VB / MCIS, performing inventory, controlling, transmitting, transporting, packaging, safeguarding, and accounting for SCI classified material. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Candidates must be willing and available for CONUS travel, as needed, up to 10% annually.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:A valid High School diploma or GED and at least four (4+) years of military security operations experience with Special Security Office (SSO) functions is required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as a team to accomplish tasks under limited supervision in a timely manner are required.Candidates must be proficient with standard Microsoft Office Suite as well as have existing knowledge of and experience the following:* Special compartmented information (SCI) directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines required to adequately discharge Security Specialist (SS) duties and responsibilities, * Proper accountability, control, destruction, transportation, transmission and safeguarding of all SCI material to include equipment that retains SCI material, * DoD/Navy/Marine Corps information and personnel security program regulations pertaining to and the handling and safeguarding of all SCI and SAP material and information, * IC SSO functions, policies, procedures and orders, including but not limited to DCID 6/1 amp; 6/3, * Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Intelligence Community Security Clearance Repository (commonly known as Scattered Castles), and other related security databases.* Active TS/SCI clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of Navy and Marine Corps organizational culture and working environment is preferred. Previous special security office experience and/or related military service with Navy and Marine Corps units is highly preferred.
