Leidos is seeking a Jr Software Engineer located in Manassas, VA.

Position involves programming a large Linux-based cluster. Candidate will develop software for a variety of naval acoustic training and simulation systems. All software is developed in a Unix/Linux environment, and written in C++ utilizing various software packages (boost, python, and MPI). Software development will include designing, coding, unit testing, integration testing, and verification and validation testing. Candidate will develop sophisticated, real-time, message passing and data distribution software, numerical models, and system health and status functions. This is not an IT/database application/transaction processing type position. Work will include the development of new code and the maintenance of existing code. Our team employs an agile development approach using Scrum.
Leidos is the prime contractor for a number of training and simulation systems developed in partnership with NSWC Carderock and used throughout the US Navy.
-Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline and less than 2 years of related experience.
-Position requires US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD interim clearance prior to starting.
Desired Skills: cluster computing, numerical modeling, signal processing, real time programming, numerical simulation, underwater acoustics modeling, sonar development. Experience with agile development (especially scrum) is also desired.
