The Leidos Corporation seeks a Facilities Engineer to performs the following tasks:
- Responsible for engineering investigations of facilities, equipment and operational issues; the CCR process; designing, planning and executing small engineering projects. - Conducts the facility assessments, code compliance and construction review. - Requires deployment to project sites in Antarctica during the Austral Summer (Oct - Feb). Due to limited medical facilities in Antarctica, candidate must pass a comprehensive series of medical examinations and tests prior to deployment. - Responsible for design, budgeting and execution of small engineering, maintenance construction/modification projects as part of the CCR process. - Responsible for facilities assessments with regard to all engineering disciplines, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, DDC controls, and will define, work orders, small projects and applicable components of large projects to address deficiencies found. - Keeps the Facilities Maintenance Manager informed of the status of engineering and maintenance activities, and assists in the development of programs and budgets. - Provides assistance to construction on engineering related matters such as: design and specification clarifications and changes, code issues, as-built drawings, field engineering, start up and scheduling. - Assists in the development, implementation, and supervision of the preventive maintenance and work control programs. - Interacts with the National Science Foundation, military and other agency officials, both over the telephone and in person, in a professional and tactful manner. - Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace program and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the work place.

This position typically requires:
- Experience with increasing responsibility in facilities engineering activities to include investigation of maintenance issues, management of change, minor construction projects, and definition of new work and project proposals required. - Bachelors degree and 9+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in facilities engineering activities to include investigation of maintenance issues, management of change, minor construction projects, and definition of new project work and project proposals required. - Requires deployment to project sites in Antarctica during the Austral Summer (Oct - Feb). Due to limited medical facilities in Antarctica, candidate must pass a comprehensive series of medical examinations and tests prior to deployment. - Mechanical Engineering degree. Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration. - Knowledge of boilers, furnaces, and hydronic heating systems, analog control systems, plumbing and electrical systems, energy conservation and fire protection. - Knowledge of Direct Digital Controls (DDC) Knowledge of water purification and power generation facilities. - Experience in project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and project cost estimating. - Previous experience working in Antarctica Leidos Overview:
