Healthcare IT Project Manager
Position Summary: Incumbent(s) in this position are typically Project Managers on a small to moderate risk project with responsibility for managing many tasks or functions of a single project.
Manages technical, cost, and schedule of assigned tasks or functions and has frequent interface with task leaders, subcontractors, support personnel and customer(s).
Responsibilities:Has full understanding of concepts, principles and industry practices within own discipline. Has deep understanding of industry practices and standards.
People Management Skills: Incumbent(s) should have the ability to manage cross-functional teams responsible for delivering high-quality project outputs on time and within budget. Ensures appropriate management, customer, and supplier involvement throughout the life of the project. Customer Interface Skills: Must be able to listen to and understand customer expectations and concerns, and assures customer we are executing project effectively.
Domain Knowledge and Expertise: Should have moderate knowledge of this field and domain gained by experience in working on similar projects / programs, may have specialized domain technical knowledge that needs to be broadened into a more comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of domain.
Education and Minimum Experience:
Typically requires a BA degree (preferably in a clinical, health administration or business service) and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience working on projects or programs in healthcare IT and or Electronic Health Record (EHR) Implementation.Master’s degree highly preferred.Minimum of at least two years of successful task lead or Project Management experience.
PMP or other certification highly recommended.Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).Strong customer presentation skills.VENDOR Product, technology and/or industry expertise relevant to the practice focus.
