As a Systems Administrator at Leidos you’ll be part of a team which provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, and engineering services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of Army Military Intelligence Enterprise IT Systems.
Our successful candidate will perform all Systems Administrator duties providing direct support to enterprise networked systems and managing Microsoft server infrastructure solutions across multiple solution areas in a DoD enterprise environment. Administrator will also perform site lead duties for approximately 30 on-site technicians supporting this important customer.
What you’ll be doing as a Systems Administrator:
Install, administer, and maintain Windows servers, workstations, desktops, laptops, and basic cabling, etc., as part of the overall systems architecture across multiple networks and locations; strong understanding of and experience with Active Directory.
Install, administer and maintain virtual environments and physical hosts as well as storage devices (NAS, SAN, etc.)
Administer Active Directory services, member servers and storage, integrate new technologies into new and existing systems, including the transition and migration of enterprise systems.
Determine isolation and resolution of complex hardware and software problems involving the application, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, and/or any combination thereof.
Perform account maintenance, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.
Utilize manual checks, GUI-based, and command line tools (PowerShell) to troubleshoot and remediate basic to complex systems hardware, software, and configuration issues on assigned systems, networks, Active Directory, etc.
Basic network troubleshooting in support of the datacenter and workstation/LAN connectivity.
Collect, review, and store server log files to identify and remediate system issues.
Document system configurations and propose and/or implement system changes.
Apply security patches, IAVAs, STIGS, and updates (including operating system updates) for all assigned systems.
What you’ll be doing as the Site Lead:
Lead or delegate amp; manage special projects and day‐to‐day operations as needed or assigned by the customer, and clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Develop project plans with customer input and manage project operations from customer provided requirements in conjunction with the customer; ensure project stays on time.
Ensure production schedules are met and system resources are used effectively.
Ensures proper relationships are established between customers, teaming partners, and vendors to facilitate the delivery of information technology services.
Ensure team members know and execute their respective roles for both projects and day-to-day operations; manage personnel and their operational and project-related workloads.
Assist amp; mentor team members with technical troubleshooting and be able to execute system, storage, network, and/or desktop administrator duties as needed.
Mentor, lead, and train junior technicians as needed.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the various technical teams assigned (service desk, sysadmin, storage, netadmin).
What qualifications you’ll need to have:
High School diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience, OR relevant Associate's degree with 8+ years of experience, OR relevant Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience
Currently possess DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II - Must have one of the following: CCNA Security, Security+|ce, SSCP
Our preferred qualifications:
Experience working with demanding high ranking customers and staff.
Skills related to MCSA: Windows 10, MCSA: Server 2012/2016, and/or CCNA: Datacenter will be required to be successful in this job (actual certifications preferred).
IAT III certification (CASP, CISSP) preferred.
Large Enterprise-level IT experience with storage devices (SAN, NAS), Exchange, Webservers/SQL, HBSS, or ACAS
Knowledge of IT service desk requirements and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments independently (i.e., with minimal assistance) with ability to provide over the phone troubleshooting.
Experience with BMC Remedy IT Service Management software.
Knowledge of ITIL v3 processes (certification preferred).
