The Civil Health Operation is seeking a Solutions Engineer within the CE/CTO Organization of the Health Group, focused on supporting customer needs in FDA, SSA, NIH, CDC, HHS, and other related agencies. This position will be located in Gaithersburg, MD with roughly 10% travel.
The selected candidate will work with Operations and Business Development personnel to understand customer needs and lead the creation of solutions to those needs. They will
bring these solutions forward through white papers, presentations, and proposal responses. This position requires leading and engaging teams of people with diverse skills to develop comprehensive solutions ranging from IT applications
and systems to full enterprise solutions, from program management activities to agency-wide operational support. The successful candidate will be able to conceptualize these solutions around key business needs and goals, as solutions
which benefit the customer as well as Leidos. This position requires a broad and deep understanding of technology and customers to support arriving at innovative and compelling solutions which differentiate Leidos from our competitors. Specifically this position involves architecting enterprise modernization solutions across the Civil Health customer base.
IMPACT: Provides technical advice/input that impact strategic client outputs and Leidos business results. Impacts functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace. Serves as a technical lead on large, complex projects. Mentors and coaches other technical staff.
COMPLEXITY: Resolves highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program. Leads the development of highly innovative products/solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts in the field.
COMMUNICATION: Requires ability to communicate with senior executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization/project. Typically negotiates and compromises to convince internal and external parties to accept concepts, practices and approaches of the area.
KNOWLEDGE: Requires highest knowledge and mastery of highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Viewed as a subject matter expert and within the field by peers within and outside the organization.
EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE: Typically requires Masters with 15 ndash; 20 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13 ndash; 16 years of prior relevant experience.

Networking, System Development, Software Development, Hardware Engineering, Operations, System Architecture, Cloud Architecture, Information Assurance, ITIL Framework, Agile Development
Strong communication skills (writing, speaking, and listening)
Experience leading the solution creation for large IT-based proposals
Experience in writing for white papers, RFI responses, and proposals
Experience in customer engagements
Development and/or Operational program experience
Expertise in enterprise architecture modernization, must be ready with examples
Experience with FDA, HHS, SSA, CDC, NIH, or related agencies
Experience engaging in business development and capture efforts
Experience developing solutions for large scale agile software development centers
Experience with data center consolidation activities
Experience developing solutions with Unified Communications
