Join Leidos' NMIC Information Technology Enterprise Services (NITES) team and serve as the Junior Database Administrator for the Maritime Intelligence Environment (MIE) Systems Support Task. The work performed onsite in Suitland, MD. An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Provides technical expertise in providing business application solutions. Utilize comprehensive understanding of hardware/software and communication environments and related peripheral equipment.
Specify proper types of files organization, indexing methods, and security procedures. Advise contractor project teams on the design of complex databases (e.g., schema and subschema details).
Define specialized aspects of user's dataase administrator documentation.
Perform detailed comparisons of various database systems.
Develop backup and archival policies and procedures. Configure storage systems software to meet requirements.
Perform administration tasks (installing, maintaining, monitoring, recovering, rebuilding, upgrading, patching and performance tuning).
Implement software solutions for performance enhancement, job scheduling, and increased user capability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: (the “must have” requirements to be considered for hire)
•AA/AS in Data Management or related discipline
•Active TS/SCI clearance
•A minimum of A+, Network+, or CCNA-Security industry certification or education is required
•1+ years of experience in Information Systems with specific focus on database administration
•1+ years of experience with database administration in a Linux and UNIX (Solaris I 0+) environment including shell script development and debugging
•Experience with database tuning to accommodate complex queries against large databases with an excess of a million records
•Knowledge of QL and PL-SQL programming/scripting
•Experience with interconnection of content repositories such as Apache JCR Jackrabbit
•Experience with interconnection of cross- domain guard technology and with web services
