Job Description


The Database Engineer will support the NITES Program as needed utilizing their qualifications and specific skill set. Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance in order to be considered for this role; the work is in Suitland, MD.
Duties include:•Design, develop, and maintain multiple enterprise-quality software applications using Java, databases, search engines, analytics software, etc.•Work with software development, quality engineering (QE), and product management teams to design and implement features and capabilities•Help to create unit tests and automation scripts•Review and provide input for product documentation•Research and solve customer issues•Research software and technologies


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: (the “must have” requirements to be considered for hire)
•BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Knowledge Management or related field or AQD GA6 or AQD GA2 training, or military training (CIN-K-2G-7010 (Afloat KM))
•4+ years of experience with database engineering and knowledge management
•Active TS/SCI clearance •Multi-database (cross-vendor e.g. Oracle, Sybase) development experience with particular understanding of database-to-database communications and interconnection with J2EE applications.
•Experience with database tuning to accommodate complex queries against large databases with an excess of a million records•Experience with interconnection with content repositories such as Apache JCR "Jackrabbit"
•Experience with interconnection with cross domain guard technology and with web services
•Experience with Exadata systems – administration and performance tuning
•SQL and PL-SQL programming/scripting skills
•Knowledge of cloud services and data storage
•A minimum of CKMP or Network+ industry certification (or education) is required
