Job Description


Leidos's Military amp; Veterans Health Solutions Group has needs for Adolescent Support and Counseling Services (ASACS) openings in Yokota AFB, Japan. This position implements a community-based adolescent support and counseling program for the adolescent dependents of U.S. Service members at U.S. Military installations in Europe and the Pacific Rim. The essential prevention and education aspect of the role includes classroom education for adolescents, in-service training to community agencies, community education, screening for and facilitation of prevention support groups for youth from high-risk environments and participation in community awareness campaigns.

Counselor Duties Include:

• Interfacing and networking with military branches and the community to identify adolescents in need of services

• Supporting family quality of life by offering individual, group, and family counseling

• Intake, screening, assessment, and management of case load

• Provide AOD training and specialized education on a variety of topics

• Treatment planning, discharge, records management, and continuing care planning for caseload

• Participation in quality assurance

• Case record management and documentation

• Securing and maintaining written referral agreements with all community agencies and briefing referral agencies about the ASACS program


Education and Experience:

• Master's Degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling

• Valid state clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LMFT) at the independent practice level or PhD clinical psychologist

• LPC, LMHC, LMFT must have graduated from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) master’s program

• 3 years of full-time clinical experience including 2 years of experience in treatment of adolescent substance abuse

• The possession of or eligibility for a state or national alcohol and drug counseling (AOD) certification

• Candidates must be creative and skilled in prevention education, community referral agreements, and program marketing

• Must hold a current U.S. driver’s license and be eligible to obtain a US military ID card, credentialing at military hospital and approval by client.

• Acquire favorable results on federal background investigation

• Possess intermediate computer competency with word processing, using simple databases/email systems and managing files electronically
