The System Engineer will be a member of the NMIC Information Technology Enterprise Services (NITES) team and will serve as the System Engineer for the Maritime Intelligence Environment (MIE) Systems Support Task.
All work is in Suitland, MD. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this role.
Assist in identifying, developing and implementing new technical solutions and initiatives.
Provide for the design, development, deployment, testing, user acceptance, security accreditation and full transition of additional, emergent or emergency requirements.
Provide superb technical system and user engineering support, both to your designated clients and to all clients whose projects you participate in.
Establish, maintain, and increase client satisfaction through professional, courteous, and caring service.
Identify client needs. Design, propose, and implement solutions, including writing recommendations, hardware specifications, support and/or directly writing proposals.
Manage or coordinate installation, upgrade, or deployment projects, including providing on-site direction for additional network engineers.
Assist engineers in assessing and developing innovative solutions to troubleshoot challenging technical issues.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: (the “must have” requirements to be considered for hire)
•BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
•Active TS/SCI clearance
•A minimum of CCNA or CAP or Security+ industry certification (or education)
•4+ yrs of systems administration in a Linux and UNIX (Solaris 10+) environment including shell script development and debugging.
•4+ yrs of systems administration on Windows 2008, 2012 and/or 2016 server
•4+ yrs experience with XML
•Practical testing expertise to include application and system documentation
•Experience in preparation of standard operating procedures
•Skill in developing and applying requirements.
•Ability to communicate with developers amp; document knowledge for non-technical end users.
