Speaking of challenges and growth our Advanced Solutions Group is expanding and needs a Senior Configuration / Release Manager to work out of our Arlington, VA office with customer sites in Bethesda or Reston. Help us with configuration management (CM) of developmental and operational systems in an agile and fast paced environment supporting the integration of analytic tools in support of intelligence community analysts whose mission is to solve unique and challenging problems.
The DOMEX Data Discovery Platform –D3P program will advance the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development spanning the breadth of Agile sprints to multiyear research and development cycles. The candidate will work closely with the chief architect, software and data engineers, DevOps engineers on the following key tasks:• Identify configuration items, implements change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits;• Create and maintain software, hardware, and documentation configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.);• Develop or modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope; • Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life;• Lead the integration of software components in release baselines and track changes to baselines through appropriate change control boards;• Regulate the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software, licenses, media, and other IT assets;• Track all problems and changes in product documents/software and reports changes, controls standard operating procedures and current configurations;• Implement automated CM tools, policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate has a demonstrated aptitude for problem solving complex technical issues, identifying, transforming, thinking outside the box, and a strong sense of accountability is desired. We are seeking individuals with a mix of technical excellence, intellectual curiosity, communications skills, customer-focus, and operational experience to improve the performance and user adoption of high-end data analytics platforms in partnership with a highly qualified, highly motivated team. Individual must be motivated, self-driven team player who can multi-task and interact well with others and advise/consult with other team members on systems engineering and software development related issues.
Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration- M.S. in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science or related field.- Expertise in the application of library science to the management of DOMEX data, DOMEX products, and Reference and Master Data- Experience with micro-service development (Docker, Kubernetes)- Knowledge of and experience in applying IC and DoD issuances on the discovery and sharing of information: Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 501, "Discovery and Dissemination or Retrieval of Information within the Intelligence Community" and Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 8320.02, "Sharing Data, Information, and Information Technology (IT) Services in the Department of Defense."
