We need someone who wants to be responsible for assisting with the design, deployment, and maintenance of a full stack microservices architecture, running in hybrid cloud and physical hardware environments. One who wants to participate in fostering a DevOps culture, and building strong cross functional collaboration with all areas of development, product, and QA in a dynamic and fast paced environment supporting the development of a data pipeline and machine learning services integration in support of intelligence community analysts whose mission is to solve unique and challenging problems.
The DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) program will advance the state of the art in mission-focused big data analytics tools and micro-service development spanning the breadth of Agile sprints to multiyear research and development cycles. The candidate will work closely with the chief architect, software and data engineers, and data scientists on the following key tasks:• Design, develop, and support scalable, redundant infrastructure to include physical and virtualized environments• Maintain and develop Docker images for a tech stack including Cassandra, Kafka, Apache, and several in house written Java services, running in Google Cloud on Kubernetes• Maintain and develop automation using tools like Ansible and Python• Improve existing infrastructure to incorporate latest technology best practices and cross application integrations• Day-to-day collaboration with developers and QA teams, to influence design, and architect solutions in multitiered environments• Orchestrate staging and production deployment• Manage individual project priorities, deliverables, and deadlines• Produce clear documentation for delivered solutions
If you demonstrate these skills, you will be considered for this role:- BS in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience with 4+ years in systems engineering or administration with a focus on DevOps or 8 years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree- 2 years’ experience with Docker or Kubernetes- An Active TS/SCI DoD security clearance- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or other comparable scripting language- Experience in common programming languages: C and C++, Java- Cloud technology, and virtualization with Docker- Networking (TCP/UDP, ICMP, and DNS, etc.), OSI Layers, infrastructure services, and security- Proficiency in Linux administration (CentOS or RHEL a plus)- Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience- Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration- Do you have any of these skills: Ansible, Puppet, Salt, CFEngine, CentOS, Git, Perforce, Python, Ruby, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Graphite, IPA, AWS, OpenStack, Java, Kafka, Zookeeper, Cassandra, Hadoop, and Apache?- Experience creating and executing linear and branching workflows with actions that include Hadoop jobs, Hive jobs, Pig jobs, custom actions- Experience orchestrating workflows to execute at predefined times, including workflows that have data dependencies.- Experience with identifying the underlying structure of acquired/collected data with undefined schema, tags, and other data structures in preparation for loading into operational data stores, such as XML, delimited text, and email (e.g. eml, mbox, pst)- Experience in the just-in-time indexing of large metadata and text repositories using Lucene-based systems (e.g. SOLR and ElasticSearch).- Experience developing and implementing algorithms using common distributed processing frameworks: MapReduce, Bulk Synchronous Parallel, Online Analytic Graph Processing, Interactive SQL Processing- Experience in continuous configuration automation (CCA) methods for providing a flexible, programmatic platform for deploying and managing the configuration of infrastructure and application resources.- Experience in automating and orchestrating the process of software deployment to build, test, and release software applications more rapidly, frequently, and reliably.- Experience in applying both agent-based and agentles (e.g. SSH) methods to event-driven orchestration and remote execution for configuration management.- Experience in applying automated configuration management and deployment tools (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CFEngine, and Salt) for configuration automation, cloud control, and event-driven orchestration.
