Leidos has an opening for a Structural / Civil Engineer to provide structural engineering support to the FAA Infrastructure Engineering Center in Renton, WA. This will include the planning, design, and evaluation of new and existing antenna towers, shelter roof replacement, and antenna fall protection systems. The position will provide engineering design of self-supporting / free-standing antenna towers, design of concrete foundations (mat foundation, drilled shaft, etc.) for antenna towers and shelters, and design of anchorage requirements for various mechanical and electrical equipment such as engine generators, electrical load bank, and Uninterruptable Power Service (UPS).
Additionally, the candidate will provide support for project schedules, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations packages. Qualifications:
Typical education and experience: (Generally the level of education/experience desired, not necessarily required)
Typically requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering with emphasis on structural engineering.
- Proven engineering experience in structural analysis, concrete, steel, seismic, and wind.
- Proficiency with Computer Aided Drafting and Design
- Experience using structural design codes.
