Leidos is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Chief Engineer who will oversee the depot and sustainment, modification and support activities for the COBRA DANE AN/FPS-108 radar. The contract award is expected in March 2018 with an April 2018 start. This position will be based in Colorado Springs, CO but will provide direct engineering support to the COBRA DANE radar located on Shemya Island, AK as well as engineering, logistics, depot and sustainment and, cyber security activities in other stateside locations. Travel to all work sites will be required. Primary Responsibilities
Duties will include leading a distributed team of technical professionals supporting the depot and sustainment task order which includes depot maintenance, system and logistics engineering, configuration management, cybersecurity and, software integration lab. The Chief Engineer is responsible for: - Effectively leading the COBRA DANE depot and sustainment team - Developing and managing budgets, - Addressing and developing solutions for complex technical problems - Establishing and maintaining work processes and standards across the COBRA DANE enterprise - Developing effective plans and schedules to meet task order requirements - Communicates with internal and external customers and stakeholders External Referral EligibleQualifications:Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in a related discipline with 8 or more years of system engineering experience or Masters Degree with 6 or more years engineering experience including a minimum of 4 years managing hardware and software engineering teams. Demonstrated experience working with distributed teams in a dynamic operational environment. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with COBRA DANE or other similar Air Force radars. Experience leading the successful transition of a large scale, geographically distributed program. PMP Certification
Experience with solving challenging parts/system obsolesce and modernization efforts.Leidos Overview:
