The NISC III program at Leidos has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer in the Des Plaines, IL office to support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) customer Power Services projects.
Employee will be responsible for assisting the FAA Engineering Services group with projects related to power services and generation as well as engine generator replacement projects.
This sub family is responsible for static, dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages.
Also may conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
Duties may include providing direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication and providing design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
May be responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area.Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience required.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of FAA programs and ATO structure desired.
- Experience with Power Services projects desired.
