The Defense amp; Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for an Avionics Mentor located in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The Avionics Mentor will serve as a formal classroom and on the job training instructor/mentor. The Avionics Mentor will ensure that all Afghan mentees have accurate training records and instruct/mentor mentees/students IAW classroom curriculum and on the job training in accordance with USG provided Training Support Plans. Mentees/Students are to be trained to the appropriate Level 3/2/1 level as prescribed by the Master Training List of their assigned MOS and to the numbers dictated by the Afghan Manning Documents.
Will instruct mentees/students with the goal of transitioning full operational capability to the AAF and the SMW.
Is responsible for planning, developing and delivering training technical programs. Duties may include analyzing training needs and developing programs to address them; evaluating third party training providers; developing lesson plans and training materials; and managing delivery of internal and externally-provided training. May also administer tests or knowledge assessments to ensure understanding of training content and application of knowledge, provide train-the-trainer programs and qualify trainers for content delivery.
EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE:
Position requires a high school or equivalent GED diploma. Must have a minimum of three years instruction in a military or environment where teaching technical subjects to learners who do not possess English as their first language.
Must have an Airframe and Powerplant (A amp;P) license, an FCC and/or (preferred) Armament experience.
Candidate to be interviewed will discuss military and/or civilian aviation experience and be able to present all applicable licenses and or certifications at time of interview.
NACI or Interim NACI required.
Program Specific Requirement: As the position location is in Afghanistan, the following requirements need to be met:
Active US passport with a minimum of 12 months before expiration prior to start date.
Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date
Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.
Failure to complete any of these actions within 60 days of accept will result in rescinding of the offer. If the candidate is unable to pass the medical screening after the start date and prior to deployment an immediate administrative termination will be requested.
