The Defense and Intelligence Division of Leidos has a career opportunity for a Senior Database Engineer with a TS/SCI with a polygraph clearance in Annapolis Junction, MD.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Oracle Database Engineer will work with the team to administer multiple Oracle databases in both test and production environments. The DBE will work to ensure databases are working in optimal manner and are properly backed up.
The selected individual must be able to efficiently investigate complex database issues and provide solutions to technical leadership. He/she must have the ability to effectively interface with database team members, software developers, customers, and senior-level management to influence program-wide decisions, efficiently investigate complex database issues, and provide solutions to technical leadership. He/she will be expected to review existing data models and provide both high-level and detailed recommendations for improvement to the data architecture. Solutions developed to support the customer's needs will be written using Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages. Other tasks may include data conversion, and other database-centric process improvement initiatives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: The candidate must have:• 13 years of experience with providing administration support for Oracle relational database systems.• Comfortable with RedHat operating environment.• Experience installing and upgrading Oracle database.• Experienced in creating monitoring scripts.• Configure and maintain database backups.• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
EDUCATION amp; EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Certification • Experience with Oracle Text and Oracle Spatial technologies• Experience with Oracle PL/SQL programming• Experience working with web pages using static HTML• Experience with Weblogic (development and/or administration)• Experience with System Administration (Solaris and/or Microsoft Windows)External Referral Eligible
