We are looking for a CAD Drafter / Designer to work at Kirtland, AFB, NM in laboratory and field settings assisting senior engineering staff in designing, generating and reviewing CAD models to furnish a comprehensive assembly for review by Leidos primary research physicists and engineers. Would you get excited doing these?- Preparing complete production detail drawings (lays outs/sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.), documentation and reports- Providing support to engineers on technical projects and collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates data to improve quality of product and/or manufacturing operations. - Creating, building, assembling, modifying and/or repairing prototype assemblies. - Performing mathematical calculations per engineering specifications. Undertakes analyses of data where guidelines are provided. - Recommending alternative solutions to problems and obstacles.

Then read further to ensure you have what we are looking for.- AAS degree or Certificate in Engineering Drafting or equivalent work experience.- Proficient with SolidWorks- Working knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Systems- Ability to obtain a Secret government security clearance within 6 months of hire- Ability to understand and abide by government safety rules and regulations- Ability to handle unusual and seldom occurring job events with minimal assistance- Willingness to support several different Leidos customers for both short and long term assignments - Possess excellent written and oral communication skills - Competency with standard desktop computer software- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings- Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration- Active DOD or DOE clearance- Experience with manual and CNC machining equipment (mill, lathe, etc.)- Experience with vacuum/pneumatic systems and controls- Experience working with hazardous chemicals and gases- Experience with oscilloscopes, multi-meters, high voltage power supplies, and control systems- Experience with high voltage ASG/SPOExternal Referral Eligible
