Job Description

The Defense amp; Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening for Mid-Level Software Developer to work in our O’Fallon, IL office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience by providing support on the TRANSCOM Reference Data Management (TRDM) program. TRDM is the USTRANSCOM enterprise reference data repository. TRDM facilitates interoperability through the centralized management and distribution of reference data tables derived from hundreds of authoritative sources. Primary Responsibilities Develops, plans and analyzes, designs products, and programs computer software that requires extensive research. Utilizes advance knowledge in the field of computer science or software engineering along with advanced knowledge of software development and methodologies. Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, debugs and maintains server side applications, Web Services, SQL queries and JSPs meeting defined requirements. Develops web services to support the receipt and delivery of data to and from systems using tools and methodology that is consistent with web service development industry best practices. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software and business/mission subject matter to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of project development, and analyzes system capabilities. Provides software development support to resolve and address security issues.


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Associate’s degree in related field, 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience
Basic Qualifications
  • United States Citizen
  • Secret Clearance (Active)
  • Security+ CE Certification
Required Skills:
  • Advance knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
  • Expertise in one or more programming language
Proficiency with the Following:
  • Object-Oriented Programming (Java, C++, etc.)
  • Software Development on Windows and Linux, Unix, or Solaris Platforms
  • Web Service Development (WSDLs, schemas, etc.)
  • Front-End Web Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Back-End Web Development (Ruby, Python, SQL, etc)
Preferred Qualifications Individuals knowledgeable and/or experienced in the following will be given first consideration:
  • TRANSCOM Reference Data Management (TRDM)
  • Software Development on USTRANSCOM/DOD Programs
  • Integration of COTS, GOTS, or Open Source Technologies
  • Virtualized Web, Application, and Database Server Environments
  • Cloud Environment
  • Configuration Management Tools (Subversion, TortoiseSVN, etc.)
  • Microsoft Visual C++/.NET
  • Sybase SDK
  • Oracle 12c
  • Apache (HTTP Server/TomCat)
  • User Interface Design/User Interface Engineering
Qualified candidate should be familiar with the following processes:
  • International Standards Organization (ISO)/ International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 12207 Information Technology-Software Lifecycle Processes
  • Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)/EIA 12207.0, Standard for Information
  • ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288: Systems and Software Engineering – System Life Cycle Processes
  • DoDI 5000.02 – Acquisition Systems Operations and 15288.1 Standard for Application of Systems Engineering on Defense Programs
