Leidos is actively interviewing for an upcoming opportunity for a Radiological/Nuclear Engineer to join our team at Kirtland AFB, NM.
JOB SUMMARY: Develop, manage, and implement instrumentation plans and methodologies to meet measurement objectives to support conduct of tests. Conduct research, development, and integration efforts to maintain currency in state-of-the-art and emerging/developmental data acquisition systems and sensor technologies across the radiological testing spectrum to ensure maximum effectiveness and to fill voids in testing capabilities. Develop and implement rigorous processes to ensure new sensor and data acquisition technologies are properly investigated and validated prior to introduction into the inventory. Develop test plans and methodologies to perform validation and verification testing of existing and emerging measurement diagnostic technologies and systems
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinating with government customers on a routine basis to plan future tests and review test and program results Researching new test equipment, sensors and procedures to enhance future testingPlanning, execution and integration of radiological/nuclear-related tests into government test plans Interpreting test resultsCommunicating of test results in both oral and written formats.Providing technical oversight and guidance to a test team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Physics or Nuclear Engineering or related fieldFive years of test experience with knowledge of government test proceduresProficiency in Microsoft Office suite of toolsEligible for Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Project Management Professional Radiation Safety Officer CertificationTop Secret/SCI security clearanceDemonstrated ability to lead a test team Excellent verbal and written communication skills
