Job Description

Security Clearance: TS/SCI Springfield, VA and St. Louis, MO Courage Services, a subsidiary of CENTRA Technology, is currently looking for Toponymists/Linguists at multiple experience levels for a wide range of foreign languages to serve as a member of a government-contractor team to analyze and conflate information associated with the Geographic Names Database (GNDB). Candidates must possess a minimum proficiency of Level 2 for Reading as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Proficiency Levels or the equivalent that meets or exceeds the ILR skill Level 2. Testing must have taken place within the last two years prior, and the candidate must maintain a Level 2 or higher, verified through accepted proficiency testing every two years. Candidates will be required to follow customer guidance and policies to respond to questions concerning the proper and correct usage of names, various Romanization systems, and the treatment of descriptive information on customer products. Successful candidates will prepare files, maps, and associated reference datasets for production, accurately entering data to maintain and update the associated GNDB records. In addition, candidates must also be able to interpret and apply policies governing the treatment of names as well as general guidelines emanating from the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (U.S. BGN), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and other related organizations HS School Diploma or equivalent minimum Most positions will require a BS/BA degree and 3+ years of relevant language and/or GEOINT experience. Advanced degrees may count toward additional experience.
