Job Duties and Responsibilities • Analyze performance and isolate malfunctions of integrated avionic instruments and flight control systems on the F-15 • Install, repair, modify and remove Radar and IFF Equipment aboard the F-15 • Train and observe aircraft radar maintenance personnel • Inspect completed repairs and installs of airborne radar and IFF equipment • Monitor equipment performance to detect and analyze recurring malfunctions • Interpret installation and maintenance policies to correct defective equipment • Diagnose recurring, malfunctions and recommend corrective actions • Observe and ensure compliance with established safety procedures • Conduct On the Job Training (OJT) for less experienced personnel • Remove faulty units and install serviceable line replacement units into aircraft and perform systems checks • Assign maintenance and repair functions to subordinates Required Skills & Experience • Knowledge of electronics principles • Understanding of, and experience with Solid state devices, the principles of radio frequency (RF) phase shifting devices and RF transmitters and receivers as applied to airborne warning and control radar and IFF (Identify Friend/Foe) systems • Understanding of the concepts and the application of supporting documentation and interpretation of technical orders, blueprint wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, machine listings, wire lists and processed data listing • Knowledge of digital data processing • 10 years’ experience and 7 level training • Experience in repairing, modifying, removing and installing airborne radar and IFF systems and their components • Experience in the use and application of associated support equipment Required Education: • High School diploma or equivalent and six to eight years of related experience • Technical training equivalent to an Associate’s degree preferred See Qualifications / See Job Duties and Responsibilities.
