Description of Position
As a General Facilities Mechanic at the NSA, responsibilities may include:
- Installing facilities systems, components, or equipment.
- Maintaining, repairing, or replacing building structures (i.e., replacing worn carpet, repairing doors).
- Maintaining, repairing, or replacing facilities systems, components, or equipment (i.e., wiring or circuitry, plumbing systems, water systems, security systems).
- Renovating or remodeling building structures.
- Repairing furniture or other damaged items or materials.
- Providing technical support ensuring that all tickets are complete and customers are satisfied with end results.
- Applying safety and security procedures and practices when operating machinery, vehicles, or equipment.
- Performing physical activities indoors under extreme conditions (for example, heat, cold, dust, clean-room environment).

Salary Range: $27,081 - $59,762 (Entry/Developmental)

Entry is with a high school diploma or GED and no experience.
Vocational/Technical training in a Facilities, Maintenance, or Construction field is preferred.
Experience in general facilities repairs or construction (e.g. carpentry, cabinet work, dry wall, masonry, ceilings, and carpet tile) is preferred.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
On-the-job training, Internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.
Monday - Friday, with basic 8 hr/day work requirements between 0600 and 1800 (flexible). Weekend and overtime work may be required.
