Description of the Position

The responsibilities of a Communications Officer include:

- Gathering and analyzing corporate or customer requirements for communication strategies or products

- Designing and executing communication campaigns and strategies

- Engaging with appropriate outlets to promote programs and initiatives

- Overseeing informational events, to include event planning

- Coaching others to create and deliver effective messages (for senior positions)

Qualifications

Salary Range:  $45,972 - $73,105 (Entry/Developmental)

Entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience may be considered.

Degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Affairs, Political Science, Journalism, English, or Writing is preferred, although any degree is acceptable (some demonstrated experience in the IC/DoD or in communications/public affairs is required if degree is not related).

Relevant experience must be in a communications or public affairs related area (e.g., writing for a college newspaper, liaison experience, or marketing), or in the IC/DoD.

 

Salary Range:  $68,036 - $106,012 (Full Performance)

Degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Affairs, Political Science, Journalism, English, or Writing is preferred, although any degree is acceptable (some demonstrated experience in communication or public affairs is required if degree is not related).

Relevant experience must in a communications or public affairs related area (e.g. writing, marketing, or public relations) or experience must be in the IC/DoD.

 

Salary Range:  $96,970 - $148,967 (Senior)

A high school diploma or GED plus 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience may be considered.

Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Affairs, Political Science, Journalism, English, or Writing is preferred, although any degree is acceptable.

Relevant experience must be in a communications or public affairs-related area (e.g., writing, marketing or public relations). Some DoD/IC experience is preferred.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

On-the job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.

Work schedule: Monday-Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirements between 0600 to 1800 (flexible). Additional hours may be required for events.
