Space Airborne & Raytheon Missile Systems Director

This position will report directly to the Information, Intelligence and Services (IIS) Sr. Director for the Product Support sub mission area and be responsible for leading product support efforts in partnership with Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) and Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS).
The individual in this role will have full management and profit and loss responsibility for the business which is projected to be approximately $200M in sales. Key responsibilities will include program execution, performance improvement and top line growth. This is a highly visible position and involves a strong blend of people leadership and management, customer interface and support, and financial and operations management. While the primary focus of this position will be internal product support and external business growth, this leader will be expected to contribute to IIS’ mission support strategies. This will require that the leader has the ability to translate strategy into clear tactics that result in achieving the highest results in a dynamic climate.

Key short-term objectives will include:
  • Foster senior level relationships with SAS/RMS leaders and directly lead the development and furtherance of the product support business
  • Develop common program road maps for product support market areas
  • Flawless execution on all SAS/RMS services and support programs
  • Develop and present to senior management the program’s Annual Operating Plan and long term financial outlook
  • Achieve all stated financial objectives
  • Conduct regular program & Estimate at Completion (EAC) Reviews, fostering strong adherence to corporate and business governance requirements
  • Develop, identify and assess new business opportunities and assign business resources to grow annual revenue and growth objectives
Required Experience:
  • 14 years of related experience
  • Experience building and/or strengthening a company, business unit and significantly improving profitability
  • Profit and Loss management experience and demonstrated ability to plan, negotiate and close multi-million dollar contracts
  • Strong background in the management of programs (cost, schedule, and performance)
  • Knowledge and development in creating and implementing a strategic plan that is aligned to maximize growth opportunities
  • Expertise in partnering with customers to retain, expand and gain new business
  • Knowledge of product support and logistics capabilities and strategies
  • Proven leadership experience managing a large diverse workforce in remote and geographically dispersed locations
  • Demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding customer expectations by delivering solutions
  • Experience working with Government Agencies and the Department of Defense
  • The ability to make sound decisions in dynamic business situations based upon the known variables and past experience
  • The ability to operate independently but still retain the larger company focus
  • The ability to distinguish, through experience and professional insight, good business opportunities from those that do not add to the portfolio value of the company (either due to risk, poor return on investment or other related factors)
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to make complex decisions in a timely manner
  • A hands-on leader who will engage with all levels with-in the organization
  • A highly motivated “doer” who can work in a dynamic environment yet still be bottom-line driven and cost-conscious
  • Must have an active secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

  • Senior level military experience or equivalent corporate business experience
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated application of Six Sigma
  • Ability to obtain Raytheon Program Manager Level 3 certification within a year
Education:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. An advanced degree in Business Management or Engineering is desirable. 112913
