This occupation requires laying out, laying up and fabricating composite parts, assembling, disassembling, installing, modifying complex and precision electronic, optical, electro-optical, electro-mechanical, hydro-mechanical, mechanical production assemblies, prepares surfaces, applies coating and performs coating-related processes. Performs electrical and mechanical in process checks, analysis, and rework of complex and precision parts and assemblies, making wiring, continuity, and component checks that utilize the knowledge of electronic theory and circuit analysis. Prepares, fabricates, bonds and assembles various composite parts. Utilizes various fabrication technologies.
May be required to manufacture and assemble developmental and engineering prototype hardware.Sets up, adjusts,
and operates all types of complex assembly machines and equipment, micro equipment as required in assembly, fabrication, test and inspection of micro electronic circuit assemblies

Required Skills:

  • One (1) yearof experience or equivalent technical/educational training, installing, reworking and assembling various types of complex assemblies in an electronic manufacturing environment; build-up, assembly, modification and rework of electronic and electromechanical sub-units and systems; laying out, fabricating and assembling electronic/electrical equipment and control mechanisms. Experience should include utilization of surface mount technology, as well as bonding, decaling, painting, identification, cleaning, soldering and mixing of process materials as required to prepare, assemble, inspect and solder mechanical and electromechanical components and parts.Experience in process operations of metal and/or plastics preparations performing such duties as masking, sanding, stenciling, chemical cleaning, bonding, mixing of bonding and/or paint materials and inspection of process parts.
  • Must have worked from blueprints, mil specs, shop orders, handling instructions and packing sheets.
  • Must have performed in–process check operations and correct indicated malfunctions.
  • Must satisfactorily complete solder certification requirements.
  • Must pass qualifying test.
  • Must be able to work all shift
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
