Raytheon’s Office of General Counsel (“OGC”) is seeking a business lawyer for its Raytheon Missile Systems (“RMS”) business unit. Reporting to the RMS Vice President and General Counsel, this position will work with other lawyers within the RMS OGC to provide strategic legal advice to one or more RMS product lines. The successful candidate will work to manage complex legal and business issues related to key RMS growth pursuits, as well as regulatory and legal compliance. The candidate will also support and collaborate with RMS Contracts, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Global Trade Compliance and other functions, as well as RMS Product Lines. The preferred candidate will have experience working with issues and transactions related to US Government and international procurement, customers and suppliers.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ·Working with and advising RMS leadership on complex legal issues concerning legal rights and obligations involved in the on-going conduct of business at RMS, including but not limited to compliance with FAR and DFARS, Raytheon standard terms and conditions, cyber security, antitrust, export/import (ITAR and EAR), FCPA and other legal and regulatory compliance issues.·Reviewing, drafting and leading or supporting negotiations of terms and conditions of contracts, purchase orders, overarching agreements, licenses, teaming agreements and other transactions with domestic and international suppliers. ·Representing Raytheon to suppliers and business partners.·Assisting with the management of Government agency and internal audits and investigations.·Assisting in the management of business related disputes with customers, suppliers and business partners, including litigation, arbitration, bid protests, and claims before state and federal courts and administrative bodies.·Managing outside counsel, as required, within budget. Required Qualifications:·Experience in the practice of government contracts law gained by working within the aerospace and defense industry, Government or a law firm, is strongly preferred.·Ability to interact well with multiple levels of the organization and maintain strong relationships with peers, internal clients and external customers.·Sound judgment and attention to detail.·Superior communication skills, both oral and written.·Ability to work collaboratively in teams with other in-house lawyers and clients on multiple projects at once.·Ability to think and work proactively and strategically in resolving legal issues.·Ability to manage a high volume workload and prioritize work appropriately. ·Proficiency with basic computer skills, including but not limited to familiarity and comfort using common word processing and email programs.·Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed, sometimes on short notice.·Ability to obtain a US Government secret security clearance.·Good standing with a state bar association, and In-House Counsel registration with the State Bar of Arizona in a timely manner following hire.Required Education: 6 years related experience with Juris Doctor from a well-regarded and accredited US law school.
