The Advanced Test Systems Engineering Center (ATSEC) is an organization within the Systems Test Directorate comprised of four departments and an engineering population of approximately 350+ people, and over $250M+/year of delivered products. The ATSEC organization has the responsibility to grow and sustain the Systems Engineering competencies throughout all test activities, and to make test more affordable, credible, agile, and robust.
Within ATSEC, the Test Systems Engineering (TSE) Department has the responsibility to develop test strategies and provide test solutions for the customer's entire product life cycle, including developing, integrating, and executing test strategies and solutions to guarantee product performance, producibility, and warfighter suitability.
Test Strategy and Architecture - As a senior engineering leader, the Test Architect (TA) will be accountable for architecting a technically sound approach for the Test and Evaluation (T&E) strategy for the entire lifecycle of the product along with influencing the prime item architecture to support that strategy.
Test Strategy & Architecture – Across the entire product lifecycle: Proposal, Development Integration Test and Evaluation, the factory solution and strategy to support the product in the field once it’s deployed.
Identify and understand technology risks and Raytheon RMS system design concepts supportive of incremental technical maturity/risk mitigation assessments.
Understanding of Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), and Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs):
Will apply their career experiences to architect T&E events and environments which efficiently and effectively utilize models, simulations, test beds, prototypes, and full-scale Engineering Development Models (EDMs) to satisfy development and environmental/qualification objectives and to satisfy an appropriate affordable solution for production.
Be capable of identifying and specifying additional requirements, as necessary, for capital, contract, and government assets (e.g., Government Labs and Test Ranges)
Drive Customer Affordability:
Engagements will steer requirement flow down and iterative requirement error analyses to be supportive of well-defined test requirements and realistic parametric test limits with cost-effective achievable measurement uncertainty implications.
Seek opportunities to drive improvements in product affordability through increased built-in-test capabilities and decreased lifecycle needs for common and peculiar support equipment.
Leadership & Business Acumen:
In addition to having a strong technical competency in Test & Evaluation, the TA will possess have proven leadership capabilities demonstrated at level the Integrated Product Team Leaders for a major development acquisition program (MDAP).
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in math, engineering, science or related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
