TheSystemArchitectureDesignandIntegrationDirectorate(SADID)inRaytheonIntegratedDefenseSystems(IDS)isseekingcandidatesforSummer2018 systemsengineeringinternshippositionsatthe St.Petersburg,FLsite.ThepositionsofferanopportunityforstudentsfromtechnicaldisciplinestogainworkexperienceinthedefenseindustrybycontributingtothedesignanddevelopmentoftacticaldefensesystemsatRaytheon.
The ideal candidatehas a declaredEngineering,Math, Data Analytics/Business, or Sciencemajor,possessesstrong analyticalskills,andisinterestedinacareerinthedesignoflargescaleelectromechanicalsystemswithdefenseapplications.


Selectedcandidateswouldbehiredfora paidinternshipfromMaytoAugust2018,withexactdatespartneredbasedonthecandidate'sacademiccalendar.


JobDescription:

Specificjobresponsibilitieswillbe designedtomatchthecandidate'stechnicalinterestandacademicbackground,butwilllikelyincludealgorithmdevelopment,performanceassessmenttradestudies,andtechnicalanalysisofsensorsignalanddataprocessingsubsystems.InternshipparticipantswouldjoinateamofRaytheonsystemengineerstobecomeacclimatedwithRaytheonEngineeringpracticesandprocesses.ThecandidatewoulddevelopandexerciseengineeringskillsthroughRaytheonsponsoredtechnicaltraining,andbymakingindividualtechnicalcontributionstooneofIDS'stacticaldefenseprogramsorinternalresearchanddesigninitiatives.



All assignmentswillfocusondevelopingthecandidate'scompetencyandcontributiontoprogramrequirementsdefinition,modelbasedsystemsengineering,sub-systemintegrationandtest,andsystemsarchitecture.SystemsEngineersuseMATLABregularlytoconductdataanalyses,andareexpectedtodocumentandpresenttechnicalresultsusingstandardMicrosoftOfficetools.Theengineershouldbecomfortableworkingindependentlyandinateamenvironment.
