The Software Engineering Center is seeking an enthusiastic and highly capable senior real-time embedded operating system developer. The individual must be a true expert in designing and developing custom operating systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing highly complex requirements, overseeing and providing technical guidance in the development of new software architecture designs for large scale embedded software systems that include developing custom operating systems, applications, board support package and low level libraries. The individual must have the ability to understand and employ Raytheon software development processes during each phase of the software development cycle. scratch


*Required Skills:


·12+ years’ experience in creating/designing custom real-time embedded operating systems


·Expertise in microprocessor architecture at the low-level hardware and software boundaries


·Proficient in C, C++, and C# programming languages


·Experience in multi-core/multi-thread, I/O startup development (e.g. core boot, BIOS and/or general processor startup)


·Experience in embedded software development using VxWorks, Green Hills Integrity, or Linux


·Familiarity with I/O (I2C/SPI/SRIO/PCI/PCIe)


·Hands on experience with multi-core and real-time multi-threading systems


·Familiar with software life cycle


·Outstanding communication and leadership skills


·Active DoD/Secret clearance, preferably TS



Desired Skills:



·Competence in embedded software debugging and analysis tools (e.g. JTAG, GDB, etc.)


·Familiar with object-oriented software development methodologies


·Understanding of agile software methodologies is a plus


·Some background or course work in cyber security or cryptography


·Experience in customer interface and presentation skills


·Familiar with modeling languages, e.g. UML.


·Ability to acquire SAP/SAR clearances




*Required Education:



Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other technical degree.



Desired Education:



Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other technical degree preferred.
