Job Description:
Raytheon is looking for a Process Engineer located in Goleta, CA. The team is looking for someone with basic knowledge and fabrications skills pertaining to chemicals and handling of fragile semiconductor wafer materials. The individual should have a basic understanding of the technical aspects associated with chemical and mechanical polish, process metrology and the ability to work within a process engineering team to resolve production and development issues. Duties include the operation of standard and customized semiconductor wafer processing equipment, polishing equipment, handling of small and fragile parts with stringent cleanliness requirements. Duties extend into characterization of equipment such as a FTIR spectrometer, Microscopes and other characterization equipment necessary to complete the assigned project. A critical skill is the ability define process capabilities, develop solutions for process improvements to implement adequate metrology to sustain production. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a clean room are required.

Required Skills:

  • Prior work experience (related or unrelated)
  • Understanding of chemical and/or mechanical polish
  • Ability to work with a team shown through class projects, work, etc.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience handling of hazardous materials in laboratories or clean-rooms
  • Handling of chemicals such as acids & common solvents
  • Familiarity with databases
  • Data retrieval manipulation, statistics and illustration.
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Required Education (including major): Must have a BS / BA with a major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or other related field by Summer 2018 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date.
