The Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) is central to the ability of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) to predict weather, water, and climate conditions. AWIPS provides NWS with the means to integrate meteorological and hydrological data into a single computer workstation. It draws data from an array of weather sensors, satellites, and numerical forecast guidance, processes and distributes the data to the 122 Weather Forecast Offices, 13 River Forecast Centers, and more than 20 environmental centers nationwide, and dispenses rapid, highly reliable warnings and forecasts of weather events that affect the United States, its territories, or adjacent waters.

As the NWS’ partner responsible for AWIPS operations, maintenance, and 24/7 technical support, the Raytheon AWIPS team supports these critical operations.

The Raytheon AWIPS Program is searching for a Configuration Management lead to support the program's System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) group performing Operations & Maintenance for the National Weather Service. Join a top performing and motivated team and help support one of the most important systems, which assist in the protection of life, property and the enhancement of the national economy. Utilizing your technical and leadership skills you will lead a small group charged with providing release support and configuration management for this mission critical system. The role requires familiarity with build processes, especially within a Linux environment using tools such as GIT, Jenkins and Redmine.

Required Skills:

•Lead solutions and activities in continuous integration and build.
•Chair the Change Control Board and track actions based on established procedures.
•Manage Release branches
•Build release rpms and binaries.
•Backup of release related assets.
•Responsible for making minor to moderate improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance.
•Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function, including but not limited to other areas of SDLC as well as the customer.
•Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

Desired Skills:

•Experience working within a Linux environment, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux
•Experience with Jenkins, GIT and Redmine tools
•Experience with Agile process and methodologies.
•Experience maintaining and updating technical documentation.
•Experience creating and modifying custom RPMs
•Building C/++ and Java software via command line or Eclipse (ANT) as well as automated build processes via Jenkins.

Education Requirements:

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience 117802
