Job Description

Location: McKinney Texas Security Clearance: None / Not Required The Value Stream Leader is responsible for overall performance management of several large manufacturing programs within the McKinney Consolidated Manufacturing Center. Responsibilities include overall cost, schedule, quality and execution of specific programs with particular development of internal and external customer relationships. The role is a combination of factory lean management as well as managing the day to day manufacturing process.

This particular position will have complete oversight of the Mission Support (Depot) value stream, which is responsible for repair and upgrade of multi-spectral turreted, pod-based and ground based EO/IR sensors, and radar assemblies across a wide range of customers. It is a dynamic environment with many engineering disciplines in play at once. Because the technologies in the products are very much “leading edge”, the ideal candidate is one who possesses a working knowledge in the mechanical, electrical, optical, and materials engineering fields. Being able to communicate effectively with engineering and Operations leadership regarding these technical issues is key.

Additional responsibilities include mentoring and developing staff of Front Line Leaders and factory operators, Sales and Operations Planning, Tiered Accountability, teaming with fellow VSLs, leadership throughout program life cycle including developing schedule plans, resource loading, and management of business performance metrics. The position will also use Earned Value Management to lead the Estimate at Completion (EAC) and variance analysis for the respective programs. The successful candidate will regularly interface with functional resources including production engineering, test engineering, quality engineering, supply chain and production control to ensure production requirements are met. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 8 years hands-on program and/or project leadership experience, to include a combination of operations/ manufacturing, earned value management systems, cost and schedule tracking, risk and opportunity
  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to communicate across the organization
  • Experience with manufacturing planning/scheduling, and lean manufacturing concepts
  • Broad knowledge of business systems, engineering, manufacturing, and financial systems
  • Experienced with the implementation, management, planning, and engineering efforts associated with a manufacturing organization
  • Experience with MS Office applications
  • Experience leading cross functional teams (performance management, feedback, task delegation etc.)
  • Experience utilizing Six Sigma and lean manufacturing tools
  • Experience in change management and consensus building
  • Must have the ability to obtain a DOD Interim Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date

Desired Skills:
  • Preferred candidate will have a minimum of 8 year applicable experience in a manufacturing organization
  • Prior experience in Aerospace Defense related industry
  • Experience with Raytheon processes such as IPDS, EVMS, R6s, SAP and iMRO
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing metrics used to manage operations
  • Program Management, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Blackbelt certification
  • Existing DOD Secret Clearance
  • Master’s degree in a technical field
  • Experience with transitioning programs/products from other locations and/or from engineering development to full rate production
