Mission Assurance Quality Engineer Team Lead. Great opportunity for a Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience and management skills to become a key part of a team in a fast pace material processing environment located at Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) STARS Material Center (SMC) in Billerica, MA.
You will represent the customer’s best interests, assuring product and process quality and effectiveness, in support of FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and other customers around the globe. In this role, you will be the Mission Assurance interface with Customer’s onsite Quality Representatives. As a Team Lead, you will drive overall quality performance at this site, including continuous improvement and implementation of lean methodologies. You will help to ensure programs meet customer objectives for Mission Assurance, working closely with other functions, including transition from development to manufacturing, to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communication skills. You will work in a results based culture with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
You will be required to problem-solve working with a team, collaborating closely with quality, operations, supply chain, and engineering personnel to ensure understanding of requirements, process, capability, and quality control. Your work will involve planning, coordination, facilitation, analysis, coordination and influencing to achieve continuous improvement and successful program execution, focusing on Quality. You will provide Quality Sciences subject matter expertise for work product and process compliance to meet tactical and strategic objectives. You will work at various levels of the organization to drive root cause and corrective action utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills.
The scope of your responsibilities will include process planning, inspection methodology, Non-Conforming Material Control, issue resolution and product acceptance. In addition, you’ll be involved with defect prevention through data collection and analysis, auditing, effective execution of Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation. You will have regular interface with external (FAA) customer and Marlborough ATS Program Mission Assurance team, including working at the Marlborough facility one day per week.This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.Required Skills: ·
Four to Six+ years of experience in a similar Quality Engineering capacity as a G08, Six to Eight years as a G09.·Experience with process documentation analysis and improvement that directly impacts efficiency or excellence·Experience with quality methods and tools, nonconforming material, root cause and corrective action, verification and validation processes, and testing mechanisms.·Experience developing solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation·Work well under pressure; meet deadlines; be a self-starter; multi-task·Ability to execute, and hold others accountable in a results-based environment·Effectively communicate and influence both orally and written with all levels with an organization
·Work within a matrix structure.
·Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance. Desired Skills:
·Manufacturing Process/Production Floor Experience
·Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards
·Experience with configuration management
·Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and Outlook)
·Ability to lift and carry 25+ lbs.

·ASQ CQE or CMQ/OE certification
·Certified Six Sigma Specialist or Expert/Black BeltRequired Education (including Major):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or related Technical discipline.
