Job Description

Location: El Segundo California Security Clearance: None / Not Required Raytheon Global Business Services (GBS) has a position open for a building controls engineer to support heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and energy reduction projects in the Raytheon Global Business Service (GBS) Facilities Organization.

Report to the Director of Facility Engineering for GBS with responsibilities for the designing, implementing, monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing of building control systems/ building management systems.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for partnering with building trade workers/technicians, building managers and internal customers to implement projects, resolve issues and implement solutions
  • Budget development, project estimating and planning, design of heating and cooling control systems, implementing and managing building management systems, determining network interface requirements, developing project scope of work and design documentation, supporting the procurement process
  • Conduct meeting with internal customers, developing continuous improvement projects, developing partnerships with key suppliers and contractors, and project management
  • Occasional technical support to 24 hr facilities site maintenance services

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 6+ years of direct experience in supporting facility operations or Building Control System integration
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and technical experience implementing and optimizing building management and control systems
  • Demonstrated experience developing facility requirements and executing cost and schedule estimates in conjunction with sub contract partners and suppliers
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate with Leadership, Suppliers/ General Contractors, and internal customers
  • Well organized with effective planning skills
  • Occasional technical support to 24 hr facilities site maintenance services

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge and expertise in at least one of the major Building management systems: Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens Apogee or Schneider Continuum Building Management Systems, as well as demonstrated knowledge of BACnet.
  • Membership in ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc), AEE ( Association of Energy Engineers)
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Certified Energy Manager ( CEM ) through the Association of Energy Engineers

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Facilities or related Discipline
