Job Description

Location:  Wales Security Clearance: SC Supply Chain Specialist

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the candidate will be required to implement and manage standard purchasing agreements, create RFI's / RFQ's for a range of commodities, materials and equipment. The candidate will administer complex POs and create business area supply chain metrics for publication to functional and programme leads. The candidate will have "cradle to grave" responsibility for one or more order books, ensuring timely delivery performance and ensuring best value for money is obtained.

Main Duties
Creation of Requests for Quotation (RFQ), Requests For Information (RFI) and selects suppliers for both direct to line materials and equipment, and indirect services.
Assessment of supplier capabilities, best value for money
Performance of due diligence
Implementation of standard supplier agreements
Management and measurement of suppliers
Maintenance of purchase orders via ERP system
Identification and implementation of cost reduction initiatives
Identification and implementation of supplier performance improvement actions

Candidate Requirements:

Experience of working within a busy manufacturing and / or engineering organisation having full order book responsibility.
Good communication/ influencing/ relationship building skills at all levels
Discipline of execution with urgency
Results driven
Good financial awareness
Good time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
Knowledge of MRP/ SAP
Innovative problem solver with analytical mind
Experience of supply chain solutions
Attention to detail
IT literate –excel, word, powerpoint, internet
Continuous improvement skillset
Eligible for or Holder of current SC security clearance (RSL will sponsor as required).

CIPS accredited working towards MCIPS
Understanding of manufacturing engineering technical requirements and specifications ideally in an Aerospace environment
Proven negotiation skills
Basic knowledge of contract law
