Location: Tewksbury Massachusetts Security Clearance: Secret The Systems Architecture Design and Integration Directorate (SADID) is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) Department supports Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) by providing world class Weapon Systems Engineering. Domain Expertise includes Radar Systems, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International Customers.

Job Description:

Technical tasks may include signal processing/electronic protection/search/track/discrimination algorithm development, performance assessment trade studies, and analysis of sensor signal and data processing subsystems. Assignments focus on developing competency and contribution to program requirements definition, sub-system integration and test, and algorithm design. Systems Engineers will use MATLAB regularly to conduct data analyses, and are expected to document and present technical results using standard Microsoft Office tools. The engineer should be comfortable working independently and in a team environment. Engineer will develop develop the technical acumen in the following Radar/Sensing areas:
  • Algorithm Development
  • Signal Processing and Waveform Design
  • Electronic Protection Methods
  • Phased Array Technology
  • Tracking and Discrimination
  • Radar Search Design
  • Statistical and Numerical Analysis of Radar Data
  • Target and Threat Modeling
  • Hardware in-the- Loop Integration
  • Radar Scheduling
This position can be a Salary Grade G07 or G08 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 2+ years overall engineering experience working with MATLAB tools
  • Experience in requirements development and/or design of system level software architecture
  • Experience in the development, documentation, and maintaining processes, methods and tools
  • Experience with customer interface and leading technical solutions to complex user requirements
  • Existing or obtain a DOD Secret Clearance within 1 year from date of hire.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with radar systems and signal processing techniques
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplined, technical team with the ability to develop, empower, motivate and monitor the team
  • Experience managing an engineering budget
  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare/Electronic Attack/Electronic Protection Techniques
  • Familiarity with Simulink modeling tools, DOORS
  • Proven ability to develop system and subsystem performance and test requirements, evaluate systems and subsystems interfaces, or design and integrate systems or subsystems using COTS/government supplied equipment
  • Proven experience with current air defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytic, technical and problem solving skills
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics
