The Leidos Defense & Intelligence Group is seeking a Test Lead to manage the System Test Team on a dynamic program in Northern Virginia.
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work on a mission that matters and to make an immediate and substantial impact enhancing a unique enterprise solution that is deployed to thousands of users around the world. The Test Lead would manage test team members who participate in our high-performing Agile teams as we build upon our proven track record of delivering innovative solutions in record time. Each day, our database, software, hardware, test, and field engineers proudly collaborate with trainers, desk officers, and analysts to develop ideas and concepts into fielded, real-world solutions on this mission-focused program. We are looking for someone to meet challenges such as continuous integration and testing of product releases. Must also be a critical thinker – someone who can rapidly consume domain knowledge and lead a team to create comprehensive, meaningful test cases and test scenarios.
Will be responsible for testing all aspects of the system including Java and web-based front end running on Windows clients, Linux servers, and Oracle/Postgres database, to ensure all components work on a variety of hardware ranging from simple workstations to high-end servers. Test environment includes bare metal as well as VM servers. Test Lead must have sufficient hardware/software experience to build and configure workstations and/or servers independently to create test environments that mirror a multitude of installed baselines. Must ensure that tests for ad hoc situations such as replicating field-reported problems or load testing under specific conditions are created. Must become expert on system functionality and that of various peripheral devices as well as the requirements that drove system design. He/she must develop understanding of user workflow to oversee creation, documentation, and execution of test plans. Excellent written and verbal skills are required to create test plans, test reports, and to document standard operating procedures for the test team while also identifying possible solutions and/or workarounds for problems. We need an individual who will take responsibility, work hard, learn, and become a key contributor to the success of the program by ensuring a bullet-proof system is delivered to the field.
